Kumihimo tarkoitti japanilaista nyörien punontaa, jos et vielä ole edellistä postausta nähnyt :).

Ja joulu kun tulee tässä vähitellen, tein jouluisen helmi kumihimo rannekorun.

I have made more kumihimo jewelry.
Kumihimo means Japanese braiding technique, if you have not seen the previous post here :).

Bracelet is made of two sized and two colored crackle beads. The clasp is silver plated one.

Olen tehnyt myös erääseen uuteen elokuvaan liittyvän korun.

Elokuva on Doctor Strange :).

Odotin elokuvaa vuoden. Sen ensi-ilta oli 26.10. Suomessa ja suosittelen elokuvaa kaikille hyvän ja viihdyttävän elokuvan ystäville.
Se on Marvel-elokuva, mutta se on enemmän kuin aikaisemmat samantyyppiset elokuvat. Minusta se on paremmin tehty kuin aikaisemmat ja lahjakkaat näyttelijät nostavat sen sfääreihin!

Tein Eye of Amagotto kaulakorun.

 Silmä-koru on tehty vintage pronssilangasta ja sammalakaattihelmestä. Siinä on kumihimo nyöri ja magneettilukko.

I made also a necklace which is related to one new movie.
The movie is Doctor Strange :).

I waited for this movie for a year. Its premiere in Finland was on 26th of October and I recommend this movie to everybody who likes good and entertaining movies.
It is a Marvel movie, but I think it is much more than previous ones. I think it is made better and the talented actors and actresses are lifting it up to the spheres!

I made the Eye of Amagotto necklace.

The Eye is made of vintage bronze wire and moss agate gem. There is kumihimo braid with magnetic clasp.

Lately I have made some commissions for my dear friends on the Internet around the world.

I interact with these friends on every day and maybe more than I do nowadays with my offline friends and family.

It was so lovely to make those pieces of jewelry for them. And then send them around the world! The farthest ones went to US. Or they haven't arrived yet. But soon I hope they will arrive! And also as safe and sound!

Ensin tein tämän sinisen elämänpuu -kaulakorun hopeoidusta langasta ja lapis latsuli siruista.

First I made this blue necklace out of silver plated wire and lapis lazuli chips.

Sitten tein keväisen vihreät elämän puu -korvakorut hopeoidusta langasta ja peridootti- sekä  ametistisiruista.

Then I made these springly green tree of life  earrings out of silver plated wire and peridot and amethyst chips.

Ja viimeisimpänä tein hopeisen elämänpuu -sormuksen peridootti rondelleilla.

En ole vuosiin tehnyt mitään hopeasta ja se oli mielenkiintoista kyllä nyt. Mutta olen kiitollinen että sain tilaustyön hopeasta!

And the latest one was a silvery tree of life ring with peridot rondelles.

Haven't made anything out of silver wire for years and it was surely interesting now.

But I'm really grateful for the chance to make a commission out of silver!

But I do make a bracelet for a friend. This bracelet chain can also be used as a necklace.

It's made of cultivated sponge coral beads and antique copper wire.

Ihana, vihreä akaatti / Such a lovely green agate

Kauan olen tuota akaattia pöydälläni katsellut.
Sain sen viime vuonna Australiasta, kun vanhempani olivat siellä vierailemassa.
Äiti kuulemma valitsi tuon kiven minulle :).

Tuonkin vihreän sävyn kanssa minun mielestä käy vintage pronssilanka.
Niinpa kieputtelin lankaa langan ympärille ja sitten kiven ympärille.
Tämä on ensimmäinen tälläisellä tekniikalla tehty, joten se jää omaan käyttöön :).

Tekiessäni riipusta, tajusin että mullahan on samansävyisiä vihreitä akaattihelmiä. Joten laitoin niitä lisäksi kaulakoruun :).

I have been watching for a long time this green agate on my table.

I got it from Australia last year, when my parents were visiting there.

My mother is said to choose that stone for me :).

I think that vintage bronze wire suits also with that shade of green.

I wrapped wire around the wire and then around the stone.

This is the first one made with this technique, so this stays for me :).

When I was making this pendant, I noticed I have also the same shade of green agate gems. So I put also them to this necklace :).

Tummaa ja vaaleaa -o- Some dark and light

Tässä on ollut monien syiden takia vähän vähissä tämä koruilu...
Käytän korujen teon apuna suurentavaa pöytälamppua, mutta siitä paloi lamppu. Kun yritin löytää uutta lamppua siihen, sain selville että koko lamppua ei enää myydä. Mutta - minulla sattuu olemaan toinen samanlainen lamppu :). Se vaan oli  n.250 km:n päässä. Ja eilen sen vihdoin sain. Joten eiköhän tämä tästä ala sujumaan :).

Here have been some reasons why I have not made jewelry so much...
I am using a desk lamp with magnifier when makin jewelry. Some time ago the light bulb burned. When I tried to find a new one, I found out that they are not even selling the lamp any more. But - I happened to own the other one. It just situated about 250 kms from here. And I finally got yesterday. So I think everything will start flowing soon :).

Tämä vuosi on mennyt nopeaan ja en ole pystynyt tehdä niin paljon koruja kuin olisin halunnut. Mutta tämä vuosi oli tälläinen, toivottavasti ensi vuosi parempi :)!

Tämän vuoden "joulukoruksi" tein pitkän kaulakorun vuorikristallisiruista, -helmistä ja gun metal värjätystä langasta. Koru on metrin pitkä. Sirut ja helmet ovat Australiasta.

This year has gone so fast and I couldn't have made so much jewelry as I wanted to make. But this year was this kind, hopefully next year is better :)!

For the this year's "Christmas jewel" I made a long necklace with rock crystal chips, -gems and gun metal colored wire. The length of this necklace is 1 meter. Chips and gems are from Australia.
I like the combination of the colors.

Ikkunasta näkyvä puu -o- The tree which is seen through the window

Tein myyjäisiä varten yhden elämänpuun.
Ikkunastani näkyy suuri koivu, jossa on jo keltaisiä lehtiä siellä täällä. Se toimi inspiraationa tähän koruun.
Minulla löytyi vielä vihreitä peridoottinugetteja (ei siruja, koska nämä ovat aika isoja) ja keltaisia akaattisiruja, joten tein niistä vintage pronssilangan kanssa syksyisen elämänpuu-kaulakorun. Kasiketju on myös tehty itse.
Tämä koru oli ainut kaulakoru mikä minulla oli mukana myyjäisissä, koska en ehtinyt enempää tehdä... Harmitti kyllä!
Mutta se ei harmittanut, että myin sen :)! Kiitos vielä ostajalle.
Kerron sen tässä jos vaikka ostaja näkisi tämän: jos korulle tapahtuu jotain - korjaan sen takuutyönä. Näin olen aina toiminut :). Unohdin nyt vaan sen sanoa.

I made a tree of life -necklace for the fair.
I can see through the window the big green tree which has already some yellow leaves. It worked as an inspiration for this necklace.
I still got some green peridot nuggets (not chips, these are quite big) and yellow agate chips. So I made an autumnal tree of life -necklace out of those gems and vintage bronze wire. The figure of eight-chain is also made by me.
This was the only necklace which I had with on the fair. That irritated me a lot that I didn't have time enough to make more.
But that didn't irritate me that I sold it :)! Thank you who bought it.
I tell it here, if the buyer would see it here: if something happens to necklace I will repair it. As I have always done with my other jewelry :). I just forgot to tell that to the buyer.

This stone is my favourite of them. And I have saved it for "some reason".
I think that there is a coast and then there is a sea. First is lighter blue near coast and then it's turning more darker blue when it's further from the coast :).

En osaa sanoa ovatko nuo hopeoidusta langasta tehdyt osat siipiä vai lehtiä vai mitä ne ovat :). Kukin saa itse päättää :).

I made this kind of necklace out of it, with short silver plated chain.
I can't say if those parts made of silver plated wire, are wings or leaves - or what they are :). You may decide by yourself :).

Tein jälleen tilaustyön serkulleni.
Tällä kertaa syntymäpäivälahjan hänen tyttärelleen.

Tyttären lempiväri on turkoosi ja kun äitinsä näki Australiasta tulleen sinisen akaatin -siitä oli hyvä tehdä lahja :). Lisäsin siihen lisää turkoosia eli turkoosisiruja ja kieputtelin hopeoituun lankaan. Sitten laitoin koruun vielä kaksinkertaiset ketjunpätkät - se oli siinä :).

Toivottavasti oli mieluinen lahja :).

I made a custom order for my cousin again.
It was a present for her daughter.

The daughter's favourite colour is turquoise. When my cousin saw a blue agate which has came from Australia - that was a good start to make a present. I added some turquoisechips there. Then I wrapped them with silver plated wire. Then I put double silver plated chains there - that's was it :).

I hope it was a congenial present :).

Tiikerinsilmää Australiasta -o- Tiger's eye from Australia

Tein serkulleni Australiasta saamastani tiikerinsilmä-kapussista kaulakorun.
Hän itse valitsi metallilangan siihen ja hän halusi siihen antiikkikuparisen.
Tein itse ketjun samasta langasta :). Ketjun teko oli ihan hauskaa. Paitsi tein niitä kaksi. Eka oli liian paksu ja iso riipusta varten. Tein sitten pienemmän ketjun. Ketjusta haluttiin myös normaalia pitempi, joten tein 55 cm pitkän ketjun.

I made a necklace out of a tige eye cabouchon which I got from Australia.
She chose wire by herself and that was an antic copper one.
I made a chain out of that same wire :). It was fun to make it, even I made two chains. The first one was too thick and big for the pendant. Then I made a smaller one. She wanted the chain to be longer than usual so now it's 55 cms long.

Takaisin töihin -o- Back to work

Olen ollut pitkällä sairauslomalla ja huomenna olen viimein menossa takaisin töihin.
Olin mm. pienessä leikkauksessa, josta toipuminen yhä jatkuu.
Näiden syiden takia, olen ollut vähemmän täällä blogissa ja yleensäkään tehnyt koruja.
Mutta nyt mennään jo parempaan päin :).

I have been on long sick leave and finally tomorrow I am going to work.
For instance, I was on a small surgery which I'm still recoving.
Because of all these things I haven't been here much and either haven't done jewelry almost at all.
But now I am heading toward better days :).

Tein tällä viikolla yhden pienen jutun: pidensin elämänpuu-kaulakorun ketjua. Tuo elämänpuu-kaulakoru oli mulla palkintona Facebook-arvonnassa.
Laitoin siihen kaksinkertaisen ketjun ja lisää rutiilikvartsisiruja. Siihen ei tullut lukkoa.

This week I made a little job: I lengthened the chain of a tree of life necklace. That necklace was one the prizes of my Facebook Giveaway.
I put a double chain and some rutilequartzchips to it. No clasp at all.

I have been having mokaites for several months, waiting for something. Bigger one is bought from the store called Somsola and gems are bought from some net shop

Tähtiportti rampin kanssa-kaulakoru -o- Stargate with ramp -necklace

Kuten olen aiemmin kertonut, olen mahdoton avaruus-, fantasia- ja sci-fi-fani.

Lopetin juuri katsomasta 10 kautta Tähtiportti SG-1:stä. Rakastin joka jaksoa siitä. Se oli niin hyvin tehty ja hyvät näyttelijät. Tietysti aloitin katsoa sitä Richard Dean Andersonin takia (koska olen hänen faninsa) mutta tarina vei mukanaan ja kun tykkään aihepiiristä niin paljon - rakastin sitä kokonaisuutta!

Katsomisen aikana (n. puoli vuotta, yli 200 jaksoa) mietin, että haluan tehdä lisää Tähtiportti-koruja. Sitten kun olin 9. ja 10. kaudessa aloin suunnitella korua ja halusin tehdä sen valmiiksi siihen mennessä kun olen katsonut kaikki 10 kautta. Nyt se on valmis. Ja voin sanoa että tämä ei jää tähän, teen näitä lisää :).

Stargate SG-1 DVDs

Like I have told you, I am a big fan of space, fantacy and sci-fi.

I just ended watching the whole 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1. I loved every episode of it. It was well made and had good actors and actresses. Of course I started to watch it because of Richard Dean Anderson, I am a fan of his. But the story caught me totally and when I like the subject so much already - loved the whole thing!

During watching (which took halv a year, over 200 episodes), I was thinking I want to make more Stargate jewelry. When I was on 9 and 10 season, started to plan a necklace. And I wanted to make it ready, before I have watched the whole 10 seasons. Now it's ready. And I can say, I will make more of these ones :).

Tähtiportti rampin kanssa -kaulakoru on tehty lapis lazuli-siruista, hopeoidusta langasta ja ketjusta. Riipuksen ympärysmitta on 5 cm ja ketjun pituus yhteensä on n.40 cm. Riipuksen kehällä on 9 "hakasta". Päätin tehdä koruun myös rampin, mitä pitkin "kävellään porttiin", koska portin yläpuolelle en voinut laittaa mitään kiinnikettä, koska yksi hakanen on siellä.

Stargate with ramp -necklace is made of lapis lazul chips, silver plated wire and -chain. The circuit of this pendant is 5 cm and the lenght of the chain is around 40 cm. There are 9 chevrons on the ring of this pendant. I decided to make also a ramp into this pendant, which is the way they "walk throught the gate", because I couldn't put any attachment to gate because of the upper chevron.

Tänään ilmestyy Thirty Seconds To Marsin uusi single ja sen kunniaksi tein uuden Thirty Seconds to Mars-korun. Sen nimi on "Up in the Air" uuden singlen mukaan.

Today is the day when Thirty Seconds To Mars's new single will be realesed and because of that I made a new Thirty Seconds To Mars-necklace. Its name is "Up in the Air" according to the singles name.

Se on tehty hematiittikolmiosta, vintagelangasta ja gunmetal-ketjusta.

It is made of hematite triangle, vintage wire and gunmetal-chain.
