"Merisiili"-sormus -o- "Sea Urchin" -ring

Tämä sormus on ollut tekeillä todella kauan.
Siitä on kuukausia, kun aloin kieputtamaan kapussin kehää tähän sormukseen.
En tiedä, miksi tämän tekeminen aina jäi.
Ehkä tekeminen näytti liian vaikealta, mutta ei se ollutkaan :).
Tämä on muuten pitkästä aikaa Abby Hookin mallista tehty. Merisiili on suora suomennus sormuksen nimestä.
Kapussia pitävät sakarat ovat kyllä pikkusen erilaiset mitä mallissa, mutta tämä tuli nyt näin tehtyä.

Vihreä kapussi on krysopraasi Australiasta. Rakastan tuota väriä :)!
Lanka on edelleen vintage pronssilankaa.

This ring has been, in the making, for a very long time.

It's been months, when I started to wrap the frame for this ring.

I just don't know why I stopped to make it.

Maybe it seems to be too complicated, but after all it wasn't :).

By the way, this is a Abby Hook's model, haven't done them for a ling time. Though the prongs that hold the cabouchen aren't the same kind.

Green cabouchen is a chrysoprase from Australia. I just love that color :)!

The wire is the same old, vintage bronze.

Tummaa ja vaaleaa -o- Some dark and light

Tässä on ollut monien syiden takia vähän vähissä tämä koruilu...
Käytän korujen teon apuna suurentavaa pöytälamppua, mutta siitä paloi lamppu. Kun yritin löytää uutta lamppua siihen, sain selville että koko lamppua ei enää myydä. Mutta - minulla sattuu olemaan toinen samanlainen lamppu :). Se vaan oli  n.250 km:n päässä. Ja eilen sen vihdoin sain. Joten eiköhän tämä tästä ala sujumaan :).

Here have been some reasons why I have not made jewelry so much...
I am using a desk lamp with magnifier when makin jewelry. Some time ago the light bulb burned. When I tried to find a new one, I found out that they are not even selling the lamp any more. But - I happened to own the other one. It just situated about 250 kms from here. And I finally got yesterday. So I think everything will start flowing soon :).

Tänään sain valmiiksi kaulakorun, jonka olen tehnyt ihanasta obsidiaani-kapussista, hopeaoidusta langasta ja kaksoisketjusta (hopeoidusta ja gun metal).

Today I finally finished a necklace, made of lovely obsidian cabouchen, silver plated wire and double chain (silver plated and gun metal).

Vuoden aluksi -o- For the beginning of the year

Näin uuden vuoden aluksi tein muutaman rannekorun.
Toinen oli nopeatekoinen ja toisessa kesti jonkin verran kauemmin. Voitte arvata kumpi on kumpi ;)?

For the beginning of the year I made a couple of bracelets.
The other one was quickly to make and other one took more time to make. You can guess, which is which ;).

Helinä halusi vihreän kiven pronssinväristä lankaa - ja tälläinen siitä tuli.

Tämä on vähän mukailtu Abby Hookin Ammonite-mallista ja siinä on myös kasiketju.

I finally got to make the prize of my draw!

The winner was Helinä, on last month.
She wanted green stone and bronze colored wire - ja here it is.

This model is a kind of reshaped version of Abby Hook's Ammonite one. There is also a figure-of-eight chain.

Orkidea -o- Orchid

Palasin pikku tauon jälkeen Abby Hookin kirjan "Wire Jewelry Masterclass" pariin. Tein sieltä ohjeista Orkidea-rintakorun. Se oli oikeastaan ensimmäinen ohje, josta aattelin että tuo on ehdottomasti tehtävä -kun sain kirjan käteen. Ja nyt sen tein :).
Tykkäsin tehdä sitä tosi paljon. En ehtinyt yhdeltä istumalta sitä tehdä, mutta koko ajan ajatukset pyörivät korussa, kun se oli vielä keskeneräinen. Ja voi sitä tunnetta kun kun viimein sain sen valmiiksi <3! Siinä on se, miksi tykkään tehdä näitä metallilankakoruja :)!

Orkidea-rintakoru hopeoidusta langasta, lasihelmistä ja valmiista rintakoruneulasta (ohjeessa oli itsetehty neula, mutta laitoin nyt valmiin)-o- Orchid brooch, made of silver plated wire, glassbeads and ready-made brooch pin (there was a self-made brooch pin on tutorial, but I put ready-made one on this time)

After a little break I get back to Abby Hook's book "Wire Jewelry Masterclass". I followed one tutorial to make an Orchid brooch. When I saw that book for the first time, it was the first tutorial I wanted to make definitely. So now I did make it :)!

I liked a lot to make it! i didn't have the time to make at once. All the time when the brooch was unfinished, I was thinking about it. And oh boy! What a feeling it was, when I finished it <3!!! That's the reason why I'm making the metal wire jewelry :)!

Eclipse

Pitkästä aikaa tein Abby Hookin designia. Ohje kirjasta "Wire Jewelry Masterclass". Kasiketjua ja "Eclipse"-riipuksen kieputus.

Paitsi että tämä oli "korjaus". Aikaisemmin tekemäni kaulakorun riipus-osa ei ollut tarpeeksi kestävä ja vaihdoin kivelle uuden kehyksen :).

I made Abby Hook-design again. Haven't made it for some time. Instructions are from "Wire Jewelry Masterclass". Figure-of-Eight-chain and wrapped Eclipse-necklace.

Only I made this as a repair. The pendant frame for this necklace I made before wasn't strong enough and I changed it for that stone.

I like this model a lot. My cousin also liked this new model for her necklace.

Tein myöhästyneen syntymäpäivälahjan veljeni tyttöystävälle.
Hän näki kuvan tästä rannekkeesta Abby Hookin Wire Jewelry Masterclass -kirjasta ja halusi sellaisen. Joten tein sen sitten lahjaksi :).

I made a late birthday present for my brother's girlfriend.
She saw a picture of this cuff on Abby Hook's book Wire Jewelry Masterclass ans wanted one. So I made a cuff for a present :).

Pitsi -ranneke on tehty hopeoidusta langasta ja muutamasta metallihelmestä.

Lace -cuff is made of silver plated wire and a couple of metal beads.

(Ensimmäinen kivi täällä blogissa, jota en osaa nimetä ;), en vaan kertakaikkiaan muista kiven nimeä).

I made again a piece of jewelry which is design by Abby Hook.

It's called Ammonite and there is an unknown gem which is wrapped with silver plated wire. The chain is also silver plated one.
(First time on my blog that I can't say what gem I used ;), I just don't remember the name of this gem).

Tuliaisia Australiaan -o- Souvenirs to Australia

Minun vanhempani lähtivät käymään Australiassa enoni luona.
Äidin idea oli pari päivää ennen lähtöä että tekisin koruja mukaan heille tuliaisiksi.
No, vähän kiire siinä tuli...
Mutta 4 korua tein mukaan.
Kolmesta on kuva. Siinä hässäkässä jäi yhdestä kuva ottamatta :).
Se on yksinkertainen rannekoru vintage-langasta ja mustista tuliakaatieta.

My parents travelled to Australia to visit my uncle.
Mom's idea was (just 3 days before leaving) that I could make some jewelry to give as souvenirs.
Well, I had a kind of hurry...
But I made 4 pieces to take with them.
There are 3 pics of them.
In that hassle I missed one :).
It was a simple bracelet, made of vintage wire and black fire agates.

Tekeminen kyllä kesti - jonkin aikaa.

Tämä on suuritöisin koru mitä ikinä olen tehnyt.
Silti katson että tämä on harjoitustyö - teen joskus paremman :).

So I have told you before - I am very exited to wrap wire jewelry which Abby Hook has designed.

I think that those models are just wonderful :)!

And  I made one more again ;).

Making it took - quite long time.

This bracelet took more work to be done than any other piece of jewelry has ever take.

Still I think this is a work of practise - someday I will make better one :).

Hyvää Uutta Vuotta -o- Happy New Year 2013

Minä kiitän kaikkia tästä vuodesta.

Olen ehkä tehnyt tänä vuonna vähemmän koruja mutta sitäkin innokkaammin, ne jotka olen tehnyt :).

Olen postinjakaja (edelleen) ja se on fyysisesti raskasta työtä, jota tehdään säässä kuin säässä. Aikainen lumentuloa ennen joulua raskautti vielä entisestään postinjakoa ennen joulua, joten en ollut kykenevä tekemään ennen joulua paljoakaan korua. Ainakaan kaikkia suunnittelemiani... Mutta asialle ei voinut mitään.

Mutta suunnitelmia on paljon :) - odottakaahan vaan :)!
Ja Abby Hookin kirja "Wire Jewelry Masterclass" on innoittanut ja tulee innoittamanaan jatkossakin korutöitäni.

I thank you all for this year.

I may have done less jewelry than before in this year, but I've made them eagerly which I have made :).

I am a mailman (still) ja it's physically hard work, which have to be done in any weather. This year's early snow made this Christmas even harder to deliver mail. So I wasn't able to make so many pieces of jewelry as I had thought to make... But there weren't anything I could do about it.

But I have many plans :). Just wait and see :)!

And Abby Hook's book "Wire jewelry Masterclass" has inspired and will inspire me on my jewelry work for now on.

I liked her style. I sent a friend request to her and now we are Fb friends :).
I also purchased her book Wire Jewelry Masterclass.
That book is full of lovely wire jewelry tutorials.

On my holiday I made the first ones of Abby Hook jewelry.

First I made an Orbital pendant. The pic of it is above.
Please remember - it was my first one of this style :).

I wanted to make another, same kind of pendant, but with different wire.
